Peter is a lawyer and a credentialed workplace investigator (AWI-CH) through the Association of Workplace Investigators, an ANSI accredited program. Peter was called to the Ontario Bar in 2008. Prior to attending law school at Dalhousie in Halifax, Peter completed his undergraduate degree in Geography and Political Science at McGill University.

Peter’s practice focuses on civil and commercial litigation with an emphasis on employment law and workplace investigations. Peter has also assisted the firm’s clients with corporate & commercial matters, securities law, as well as wills and estates. This broad background and experience enables Peter to provide effective and efficient legal and strategic advice in a cost-effective manner.

Peter is also Harris + Harris LLP’s lead workplace investigator for all issues including but not limited to claims of:

  • •Workplace violence;

  • •A breach of company policy (ie misuse of company property, theft, fraud, improper payments/gifts (ie kickbacks or bribes), breach of anti-trust policies, conflicts of interest, breach of fiduciary duties, improper disclosure of confidential information, etc.)

  • •Poisoned work environment; and
  • •Retaliation and/or reprisals.

Peter has significant experience in assisting clients with strategizing and executing the most effective course of action in achieving their desired goals. Client goals are achieved through effective negotiation, document preparation, Statements of Claim, Defences and Counterclaims and all related steps up to and including obtaining Judgment and enforcement of same by Writ or Garnishment as necessary. In addition, Peter has worked closely with and advised human resources departments on employment law matters, inclusive of creating employee policies, procedures and handbooks.

Peter has represented clients before the Superior Court, the Ontario Human Rights Tribunal, the Ontario Labour Relations Board and Small Claims Court.
